Vicki Blevins-Booth founded Kentucky CancerLink, formerly Kentucky Pink Connection, in 2008 after being inspired by Dr. Harold P. Freeman, who is widely considered to be the pioneer of patient navigation. His vision for incorporating patient navigation in oncology has been known to address disparities in access to timely screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
Kentucky CancerLink’s initial funding was provided to exclusively support breast cancer patients but in 2014, Kentucky CancerLink board members voted to expand the mission to all cancer types.
